This road is very hit or miss. Much like 26 to it's west it is a mixed bag with the road surface. You'll go from pristine black top to rutted mess and back again in the span of 5 miles.
I can say that if the pavement was good and uniform it would be pretty damned sweet, but as it is now I can only recommend 26, unless you're a local and you know the good parts.

Surface not great and route a bit narrow in places, but I liked it because there are lots of nice corners
