This pre-historic route takes in Stonehenge, Avebury, West Kennet Long Barrow and Sillbury Hill along the way. There is also a section through Savernake Forrest with the opportunity to visit the Crofton Beam engine for a little more up to date history. The route goes through many major and minor residential areas so opportunities to take on refreshments or fuel are never far away. Other sites of historic interest aren\'t far away from the route either such as Wayland Smithey, The Vale of the White Horse, Barbury Castle and Highclere Castle to name a few.
