Road surface is terrible on this road, it´s paved but unless you have an adventure bike be warned that it will not be a very comfortable ride most of the time. The scenery is however great, although if you have fear of heights, the western part down to (or up from) Dale can be quite scary. Narrow road with virtually vertical drop on one side and mountain wall on the other.
The Bergsdal road takes you up in the mountains on the old road between Bergen and Voss. The area has farms, summer houses and the occasional old power station. Beware of cows, sheep, potholes and blind corners. This is not a good speed run, but a relaxed scenic ride. The scenery is absolutely beautiful, the road is fun to ride and the local bulls are mostly harmless.
The climb up from Dale is narrow and twisty.
Dont go wide in the corners.
This hydroelectric dam marks the end of the climb and the beginning of the flatter farmlands.
Pocket sized power station.
The black bull looked at me with very suspicious eyes, I think he was protecting the brown cow.
