OK surface, nice scenery, great corners
I did this route on 23 April 2011 coming from Napoli starting from Capaccio Scalo with half a tank left on a 5 gallon tank. I had enough to get to an AGIP on the Autostrada. The first half was amazing. I couldn't get out of 3rd and had to drop down to 1st every so often because the road was soooo twisty; it was amazing! My lips curled up at every turn... it felt like I was in heaven! Then the second half started to get a little dodgy because the road started to get a little sketchy where it wasn't even. One side would be higher than the other side and so you have to watch out for the uneven turns. You can tell that there are a lot of bikers running through it because I saw in the corner of my eye an old man on a scooter. I was waiting for him to pass on a turn, but he didn't show up. Instead, he was waiting for me to take over both lanes while leaning into my turn... he was a cool I-talian on a scoot! Watch out from debree from trailers, dirt, pebbles, etc. I did this on Saturday, stayed in Scario, did the Santa Lucia to Agropoli on Sunday. PERFECT WEEKEND!!!!!
About half of this road has been resurfaced in the last year providing a racetrack quality ride in the early turns. The other half is still good grip surface but with many deformations from the geologic activity in the area. Scenery of the National Park is fantastic in many different locations along the ride.
