I rode this in reverse last night and it was a nice ride. Its quite narrow in places with lots of blind corners. Not a fast road (unless you like to play russian roulette) - a good cruise.
JohnnymadI am fairly new in the biking world, but decided to try this road out as I used to use it for fun when I was a car driver. Its fun in a car, and even more fun on a bike.
The view ahead is very limited in places which can cause you problems until you know the route well. Of course you never know what might have appeared round a blind corner since the last time you rode the road.
It has a few straights, open corners and tight corners (A couple that tighten half way through as well to keep it interesting). It also dips and rises in places. At the start of the route their is a big straight, but it has a very blind dip, so I would not recommend passing until you see its clear!!
Unfortunately a few farm entrances and exits occur on route, and a couple of industrial businesss to watch out for. Also a couple of small sets of housing (One half mile long 40 limit)
I have never seen police on this road, and apart from the 40 limit for half a mile its national speed limit all the way. This is one of the few fun roads around Derby that has not been limited to 50mph!!
As I say I am fairly new, so my view of the road may be very different to more experienced riders.
Its not the longest road in the world, but when you get to the Turnditch end, you can head off in all sorts of directions.
