Theyve obviously resurfaced this since the last review. You can take the tunnel, which goes straight through the mountain, or you can head over the old Col du Puy-Morens. Because you are clinging to the edge of a mountain, visibility is excellent. The snow poles give you the hint that at the wrong time of year this would be deeply scary on a bike, but in high summer its merely great fun, and most sensible people use the tunnel so its not even busy. However, the only thing between you and several thousand feet straight down is a fairly insubstantial crash barrier, so worth keeping enthusiasm firmly under control...
Many good corners with good visibility but road surface a bit patchy in places.
