I had ridden from Maryborough, through Rockhampton and got to Alpha after last light. I had been advised at Emerald that the locals did NOT drive of a night because of 'Road Kill' I was enjoying myself and hadn´t seen any so continued. In Alpha I was told in no uncertain terms that I was an IDIOT to continue and I proved them right. I did, however, build in a safegaurd by asking a Road Train carrying Fuel if he wouldn´t mind me tagging on his tail. He agreed and we were off. The locals were right ... road kill every 100 metres or less around Barcaldine. This would have to be probably the worst stretch of road for this in Australia.
