A138 Ainsa to Barbastro (Aragon, Spain)
August 27, 2008 rated

"Head south out of Ainsa on the A138 and you’ll be high on adrenalin before the tyres are even warm. You’ll soon forget that you’re hungover as you crank it right over into long sweeping left after long sweeping right. Repeat for 46k all the way to Barbastro. Plenty of stopping places alongside Lake Mediano and then Lake El Grado if you wish. Very light traffic is just a minor annoyance on such a road where a quick pace is a must. This is an absolute stunner and a real riders road. No police, great surface, and good views – Sportbike heaven. Great fun but over too soon. No bad bits to mention and unfortunately no photos this time around.

Caerleon - Llangybi - Usk (South East Wales, Great Britain)

"I live in the area and love this road. A good surface and no bad corners. Theres a lovely series of fast curves approaching Caerleon. Sadly the last five years have seen an increasing number of speed camera signs and police presence. The latter are only around on weekends/bank holidays. " See More ...
Hu 631 : Sarvise - Escalona (Aragon, Spain)
(18)

"We tried to take the first right as you head North out of Torla with a plan of getting right into the heart of Ordesa National Park, but soon realised that the bikes weren’t cut out for this terrain. The track – as it turned out to be – climbs from 900 metres to 2200 in a few k’s. See pictures 3 and 4 and you’ll see why we had to turn back. There are also signs saying no vehicles but how strictly they enforce the law will for now remain unknown.
Plan B. We headed south out of Torla and took a left at Sarvise on the HU 631. We were hoping to find some smaller, less travelled roads into the picture postcard surroundings. We succeeded.
The 631 (they had the cheek to name it!) connects Sarvise and Escalona and really puts you in touch with nature. You won’t be greeted with smooth fast tarmac, more so, potholes and gravel. For 35km! There are some nice twisty stretches and it is passable by road bike but I wouldn’t risk dropping your new Busa on some of it’s testing corners. But, we took the chance, came out the other end unscathed, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
A big trailie would be in it’s element on this road and I find myself offering encouragement to try it. You just might like it. An experience i’ll remember for years to come.
Head South on the A-138 out of Escalona and spend the night in Ainsa drinking lager out of frozen glasses. And Hostal Ordesa is still only €40 per room per night inc bfast.

B4265 : Ogmore by-sea - Llantwit Major (South East Wales, Great Britain)

"Excellent road that runs parrallel to the road.
Ride from llantwit major to Ogmore direction for the best route - look to the left for coastal views. Stop in southerdown in the top car park for a spectacular view or ride downt he steep road to the beach and Dunraven park. If your not stopping continue along to ogmaore by-sea for more spectacular sea views.
Follow the road around and back on to the A48 for a fast blast back towards Cowbridge and Cardiff - just watch out for police on Sunny Sundays!
Enjoy!

"Road this for the first time a few weeks ago the other way round then went back and forth about 10 times.
Amazing road, with spectacular views - just watch out for the sheep. Stop at the viewpoint looking north towards Llangorse lake and take it all in! :-)" See More ...
